406 Error occurs for using banned phrases, spambot, spam toolbar, having hijacked BHO on IE, bad referer etc. There are mod_security rules for these blockage and hardening the server using whom 406 error occurs. Specifically this type of error is avoidable using .htaccess, though to harden the site security, its recommended to use it. The easiest way to know why 406 error is occuring is to contact support with the IP and access url. Client can also analyse the matter by going to Cpanel >> Web/FTP Stats >> Latest Visitors and checking the 406 error response code and related User-agent information including the phrases used.
